Cottage Cheese Wrap Recipe: 2 Organic Ingredients and a Pinch of Salt

Cottage cheese bread. Cottage cheese flatbread. Cottage cheese flatbread wraps. Cottage cheese bread wraps. Cottage cheese wraps. What would our Organic Valley team call these interesting, trendy internet sensations? We can come back to that.

We have been keeping tabs on all the hype about cottage cheese creations. After all, Organic Valley has been smitten with cottage cheese for decades. Packed with protein, cottage cheese is oh so versatile and bursting with nutrients. We figured we better try a version of the cottage cheese creation.

When we decided to attempt our own cottage cheese bread creation, Organic Valley’s always-helpful Product Development Manager Devin Thorson got off the plane after attending a cheese competition and got to work in the kitchen. It took a little finesse to get the right consistency, but what he came up with is a soft cottage cheese bread wrap that can be filled with whatever you desire — even cottage cheese. After all, it is the star!

He brought the ingredients to our Cashton, Wisconsin, office to give you (and our content creators) a step-by-step tutorial of how to make it. Here’s the recipe. Keep scrolling for a step-by-step photo collection.

Organic Cottage Cheese Wrap Recipe (or whatever you want to call it)

Prep time: 2 minutes
Cook time: 35 to 40 minutes
Total time: Approximately 45 minutes
Servings: 1
1 cup Organic Valley 4% Cottage Cheese
1 large Organic Valley Egg
Pinch of Salt

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 F. Line a baking pan with oiled/greased parchment paper.

Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor. This is a good time to customize with herbs and spices to complement your finished recipe.

A man stands by a blender that has cottage cheese and an egg in it.

Blend until incorporated but still creamy — 10 to 15 seconds should be enough, depending on your blender. Overblending may lead to a thin texture that won’t bake as nicely.

Slowly pour mixture onto oiled/greased lined baking pan and place in oven.

Bake at 325 F for 35 to 40 minutes.

Remove from oven and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Carefully peel wrap from the parchment paper (remember, it will be hot) and fill with, well, whatever you’d like!

Sweet Cottage Cheese Wrap Ideas

Want an easy dessert or sweet snack option? Fill cottage cheese wrap with your favorite fruit — be it sliced peaches, strawberries, blackberries or blueberries (or mix and match) — and fill with homemade whipped cream. Easy and delish.

You could also spread Organic Valley Butter on the bread while still warm and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Yummy.

Now back to the name. Well, in the end we settled on Cottage Cheese Wrap. Simple, understandable, representative of the tastiness that comes from good cottage cheese.

Now, that’s a wrap!
